Resort Pass, Day pass resort maui kihei wailea hawaii, fairmont kea lani day pass pool resort cabana

Did you know that some resorts offer day passes to use their fancy pools? We recently went to Maui and after extensively researching lodging options, we decided to go for a 2-bedroom condo. This allowed us to save a little money by cooking some meals (instead of always having to eat out) and having more space for us and our kids to spread out. Our condo did have a pool, but we really wanted to experience one of the fancy resorts for a day.

Enter ResortPass – where you can get pool, spa, and amenity access at the best hotels and resorts. You can search for the area you are traveling to (or maybe even in your home town!) and see if resorts offer day passes. We only found a couple of options available for Maui, and one of the places was already sold out. We decided to rent a cabana at the Fairmont Kea Lani in Wailea, Maui for a day.

Check-in:

We paid ahead of time through the Resort Pass website/app. Parking was free and easy to find. We walked through the very fancy lobby of the hotel and proceeded to the pool area. I checked in and the helpful attendant found my name on a list and showed us to a cabana. They brought us a cooler full of cold soft drinks and juices. (I think my kids drank their weight in POG juice!)

After getting situated, the kids and I decided to try out the pool. My husband opted to go check out the beach.

Perks: (These vary by resort/hotel)

  • Cabana that fit four lounge chairs (just barely – not a ton of other room in the cabana)
  • Beautiful pools, beach and grounds
  • Unlimited water, soda and juice throughout the day
  • Macadamia nuts
  • Fresh fruit/veggies in a bento box
  • Mochi ice cream
  • Poolside service if you want to order lunch from the restaurant on-site
  • Feeling “fancy” for a day

Cons:

  • Can be a bit on the pricey side
  • Days passes/cabanas fill up quickly. So if you know you want to buy one, you need to plan in advance

Overall Conclusion:

I am so glad we tried out the ResortPass at the Fairmont Kea Lani in Maui. The grounds, pool and beach were exceptionally beautiful. If you are staying in a condo with a basic pool or somewhere without a pool, ResortPass is a great way to experience some fantastic pools and amenities.
