As part of our house remodel, we decided to make some updates to the dining room. Here are the steps we took and updates we made.
Step 1 – Remove the arches. (We had our general contractor frame them out with trim that matched the rest of the house).
Step 2 – Paint – We decided to paint the ceiling and trim white and add color to the walls.
Step 3 – Replace the carpet (We would have liked to do hardwood floor, but since we were keeping the existing hardwood floor in the kitchen, it would have been too hard to match. So we decided to go with a nice stain-resistant carpet).
Step 4 – Update the lighting.
Here are some of the details for what we used:
- Lighting Fixture – Amazon
- Paint Colors
- Walls – Comfort Gray by Sherwin-Williams
- Trim and ceiling – White Dove by Benjamin Moore
- Curtains – Pottery Barn white curtains
We love the dining room. It is a great place for hosting family dinners, playing board games, or doing school work.
