I have a confession to make – I have never gone to a store in person for Black Friday shopping. I LOVE shopping, but I have never had the desire to get up in the middle of the night and stand in the cold waiting to be let in to a store, along with hundreds of other people, looking for a good deal.
But I DO love comparison shopping and finding good deals. Especially when it’s a deal on something I was planning to buy anyway. This year, because of COVID, so many stores are offering Black Friday sales on-line and are not just limited to the day after Thanksgiving. And with Shop Small Saturday and Cyber Monday -there are a lot of ways to find deals and sales to get a jump start on your Christmas shopping.
Here Are Five Tips to Find the Best Deals for Black Friday
- Make a list ahead of time for items you are looking for. Is a Nintendo Switch on your kids’ Christmas wish list? Comparison shop and see which stores offer the best deal (or have it in stock!) Then check back for extra savings on Black Friday.
- Make a list of your favorite stores and check to see if they are offering Black Friday deals.
- Check the return policy. Make sure you can return something easily if you get buyer’s remorse or find a better deal later.
- Make a budget and stick with it. In a crazy year, shopping can be therapeutic. But try to keep within your limits and don’t buy something you don’t really want, just because it’s on sale.
